LOUISVUITTON.COM - Louis Vuitton Events Mediolanum Factionem
The origins of Milan are to be found in its ancient name Mediolanum (meaning "the centre of...", and later declined into media), so when it comes to fashion and the Italian savoir-faire it seems Milan was bound to become the centre of attention.
More than the usual ribbon cutting ceremony, the reopening was a multifaceted launch for the Milanese fashion week. Located in the Quadrilatero d’Oro district (also known as Montenapo) the store interior designs inspired by what in-house architect Peter Marino refers to as a "residential" style, subtly introducing elements of a refined and intimate home setting. The neoclassic exterior facade, facing via Montenapoleone, has been meticulously preserved in order to keep its historic significance. History of fashion was also thrust into the forefront via the inauguration of The Art of Fashion, an exhibition curated by Katie Grand and retracing 13 years of Louis Vuitton silhouettes. In the same way this day was the official launch of a Louis Vuitton partnership supporting the young fashion designers with Istituto Marangoni, one of the most esteemed fashion schools around the world.
Between the ever changing characteristics of the fashion world to the steadiness implied by history and tradition, this reopening truly encompasses some of Louis Vuitton’s main values.
